  • Deployment Days- In the world of email, there are certain days of the week that are considered optimal deployment days. This time frame is critical to ensure the most favorable day that your email would most likely to be opened and read. We know that in a late Friday afternoon deployment the chances of the email being read are slim to none. After all, who wants to open an email at 4:55 on a Friday when you are getting ready for the weekend? We analyze your product and audience and suggest the most favorable dates to deploy your message.


  • Subject Line- The subject line of your email can make or break your campaign. If you don't have a compelling subject line the chance of your email even getting read is slim. Your subject line should trigger curiosity so the recipient is compelled to open your email. Equally important is the length of your subject line. There are a few schools of thought on what is considered an optimal length. To be honest, there is no exact formula for success. Studies have shown that subject lines with 60 characters or less may indeed encourage more people to open the email. Consequently, these people are less likely to then go on and click on content or offers within the message than people who open an email with a longer subject line. There is an opposing distinction between opens and both click and click to open (CTO) rates. To evaluate the effectiveness of your subject line, try a few different ones and gauge the reaction. For the test you can use a small portion of your email list or a few friends or colleagues. When you know what works, use that in your larger email marketing campaign.


  • Double Opt-In and House Files- In a single opt-in, people submit an email address and request (opt) for specific emails to be sent to them. The intrinsic issue with a "single opt-in" is that people might submit their name involuntarily, or even worse, someone else may have submitted their name for them, without their knowledge. Applying the practice of double opt-in on your house file ensures superior permission that tackles the single opt-in issue. With double opt-in, the submitted name is not immediately added to a mailing list. Instead, an email is sent to the address, asking to confirm that email should indeed be added. If the recipient of the confirmation email doesn't respond, the submitted address is taken off of any mailings. This practice can help guarantee that the name is only added to a distribution list if the recipient responds to the confirmation email. The primary benefit of using a double opt-in file is the lowered risk of being tagged as SPAM.
